Kids, elderly, and people with breathing problems suffer most. Coal dust violates that right. We are not anti-jobs or anti-port. We support economic development. But jobs should not cost us our lungs. Other coal ports worldwide use covered conveyors, misting systems, windbreaks, covered wagons + ships, and real-time air monitoring. Richards Bay can too. *We call on*: RBCT, Transnet, DFFE, KZN Dept of Health, and uMhlathuze Municipality to: 1. Install covered conveyors + domes for all stockpiles 2.
